Chapter 11
Lucky tried to get a hold of Nikolas, but he was unsuccessful. He decided to see Britney in jail himself. Upon arriving at the P.C.P.D. he waited for her in the interrigation room. As Britney was led in by a cop, she was surprised to see Lucky there."Lucky!" She said in shock as he looked up at her. "Five minutes." The cop told Britney as he left the room. Britney sat down across from Lucky. "How did you end up in here?" He asked. Britney sighed. "I drank and I drove." She answered. Lucky just looked at her. "Why would you do something like that?" Britney shrugged and shook her head. "I was upset." "Well, I get that." He said. "But do realize how serious this is?" Britney looked at him. "Hey I don't need a lecture from you. I don't think I could have a drink ever again." "You say that now." Lucky said. Britney shot a look at him. "You don't think I have enough will power in me?" She asked."I'm not an alcoholic. I only drink when I'm upset." Lucky looked at her. "Which is quite often, isn't it?" He asked. Britney stopped for a second and sighed. "Yeah, it is." She replied leaning on the table. "Why don't you just try being happy?" Lucky asked her. Britney chuckled. "That's easy for you to say, you've got nothing to complain about in your perfect life." Lucky shook his head. "I don't go making a mess out of my life. One mistake can stay with you forever." He replied. Britney looked at him. "I know it can." She said. "My life already seemed bad, but I didn't think I could make it any worse, but here I am." She said sighing with a slight chuckle. Lucky looked at her. "Your life isn't that bad. You just met your father, can't you start something with that?" He asked. "He was never there." Britney replied. Lucky chucked. "There you go again, always looking at the negative side to everything. You can't live like that." "Oh." Britney said. "And you have never looked at the negative side to anything? She asked. Lucky chuckled. "Not since I met you." he replied. "After seeing you do it all the time I relized it's kind of depressing to watch." Britney smiled a little bit. "Ok." She said after a pause. "Well, on the good side Stefan said he was getting me a good lawyer, his sister and she's going to get me out of here." Lucky smiled. "See there you go." He said. Britney sighed and flopped her head on the table. "It's not all about just getting out of here, ot's more of what I'm going to do when I am out of here." She said. "What are you going to do?" Lucky asked her. "That's just it." She told him. "I don't know. I can't do this this alone, I can't do it alone anymore." Lucky looked at her. She lookas as if the life had been sucked right out of her. He put his hand on her hands. He didn't say anything, but Britney looked at him. The two looked in eachother's eyes. There was silence for a moment. "Why are you here?" Britney asked breaking the silence. After our last conversation, I didn't expect to see you here." "Because" Lucky replied. "You were in trouble and I thoght you might need a friend." Britney smiled. "That means a lot to me Lucky." She told him. Lucky moved away from her. "I want you to be ok." He said. "I think I will be as long as I can get through this day." Britney said."You will." He asurred her as he got up. Britney lookad up at him. "Thanks, Lucky." She said. "You know" He said. "I'm getting tired of you saying that to me." "Well." Britney replied. "Maybe soon you're be the one who's thanking me." "For what?" Lucky asked. Britney smiled. "I don't know, just maybe." She said. Lucky looked at her. "Good luck." He said. "I could use it." Britney said seriously. Lucky lookat back at her then walked out of the room. Britney watched as he left and sighed. Her life was going to change. She wanted to move out of the dark place she was in and move on and Lucky made her want to do it.

Jason sat in Lucky's room at Kelly's as Elizabeth put together the hot chocolate that Lucky had brought from downstairs. "Hmm, this is good." Jason taking a sip. "Well" Elizabeth said. "I'm guessing that you didn't come her to drink hot chocolate, so why don't you tell me what it is." She said sitting down next to him. Jason looked at her. "I'm leaving town." He said. Elzabeth was in shock. "But you just got back." She said. "I know" He replied. "But the business I had with Sony didn't take as long as I thought it would." Elizabeth sighed. "Where are you going to go?" She asked. "I don't know" Jason replied. "But I might go back to Italy." E;izabeth didn't look too happy. "When are you leaving?" She asked. "Right after Christmas" He asnswered. Elizabeth nodded. Christmas was only two days away. "I didn't expect you to leave so soon." She said a little upset. "I wanted to let you know." Jason told her. "So I didn't just show up and say goodbye." Elizabeth looked down. "Well, I'm glad you did." She said. Jason lifted up Elizabeth's head with his hand. "Do you want me to stay?" He asked. Elizabeth turned away from Jason. "I guess it's for the better." She said. "You really believe that?" Jason asked. Elizabeth looked at him. She didn't know what to believe. "I don't think I want you to go." She said looking up at him. "I want you in my life." She said. Jason pulled Elizabeth's hair away from her face. The two stood looking at eachother then they kissed. At that moment, Lucky walked into the room. He stopped. Elizabeth saw him and pulled away from Jason. Lucky looked at Elizabeth as though he was looking right through her. Elizabeth saw the look on his face, a look of hurt and anger. "Lucky!" Elizabeth said in shock. "I didn't expect you beck so soon." "Obviously." Lucky said coldly looking at Jason who was standing in the middle of his room. "What are you doing here?" Lucky asked him. Jason turned to Elizabeth who was looking at Lucky. "Jason?" She asked. "Will you leave us?" "No, it's ok." Lucky said looking back at Elizabeth. "I don't want to be here anymore." He turned to walk away. Elizabeth ran after him, leaving Jason in Lucky's room. "Lucky!" She called as she followed him out of Kelly's. She caught up with him outside and grabbed his arm. "You can't leave like this!" She said upset. Lucky turned to her. "You can't expect me to stay!" He said. "What happened between you and Jason. I saw you two kissing in my bedroom!" "I'm so sorry."Elizabeth said, her eyes welling up with tears. It will never happen again." She promised. Lucky looked her in the eye. "Alright, just tell me, have you kissed him before?" Elizabeth stopped and looked at Lucky Lucky. She didn't say anything, but Lucky saw the look in her eyes. He knew meant this wasn't the first time. Lucky turned away and sighed. "Lucky, I'm sorry." Elizabeth said. Lucky looked at her. "For kissing Jason or for me walking in when I did?" He asked. Elizabeth looked at him. "You know I never planned this to happen, I didn't ask him to come and I never meant to hurt you." She said. "Will you let me make this up to you?" She asked. "Why?" Lucky asked. "You would  just go right back to Jason. I should have know you wouldn't be able to stay away from him. I did know, but I thought that I could trust you, that this time you would keep your promise that you and Jason were nothing more than friends, but I knew he had feelings for you." Elizabeth turned away. "How long have you had feelings for him?" Lucky asked her. "A day? A week? A year or more?" Elizabeth looked at him. "Lucky, I love you with everything I am." She said. "I used to know that." Lucky replied. "That used to be the most clearest thing to me, your love, but now all I see is your lies. I know you lied to me about Jason before, and you say it's going to stop, but when is it? Elizabeth just looked at him. "You say that you and Jason are just friends." Lucky continued. "It doesn't look that way to me. I find you two kissing in my room. Have you ever even told me the truth about you and him?" He asked angrily. Elizabeth sighed. "You know I have." "Do I?" Lucky asked. "You tell me you love me then you sneak off to be with Jason, you do that everytime he's around. And I can't sit arund waiting for you to come back anymore, Elizabeth. If you want to be with Jason, you go be with him, because it's over between us, we're through." Elizabeth looked at Lucky. She couldn't believe what he was saying. "You're breaking up with me?" She asked. "Yes." He replied. Elizabeth was shocked. "I'm not going to see Jason again." She said. "Elizabeth" Lucky said to her. "Do you realize how many times you tell me that and how many times I find you with him and you just make up an excuse, but it doesn't stop you from going right back to him." Elizabeth faced Lucky. "After everything we've been through, it's over just like that?" She asked. "Yeah." Lucky said quietly. He looked down at the ground. Elizabeth looked at him. "I'm sorry I hurt you." She said. Lucky looked up at her. He knew she meant it, but he also knew that it wouldn't stop her from going right back to Jason. "Maybe this is best for right now." Elizabeth said. "We can't go back, Elizabeth." Lucky said as he looked at her one last time then turned to leave. "Goodbye." He said. Elizabeth watched him go. "Goodbye, Lucky." She said quietly. Lucky glanced back at her once last time then turned the corner and walked out of her sight. Elizabeth watched him go. As she stood in the snow, a single tear fell down her face.
