Chapter 3
"Jason!" Elizabeth called out in shock. She couldn't believe he was back in town. Jason looked at Elizabeth as if he wasn't sure what kind of reaction he would get from her. The two stood facing each other, but kept their distence. "I wasn't sure if I should have called after you or just walked away." Jason spoke up. Elizabeth looked surprise. "Well, why wouldn't you?" She asked. "I don't want to stop being your friend, I mean we're still friends, right?" Jason looked at her. "That's what I want, but I wasn't sure how you felt." Elizabeth didn't say anything. She remembered the last time she saw him, it was late April and he had asked her to leave town with him and she turned him down so she could stay to be with Lucky and she never regretted that decision one bit. Jason had left Port Charles without her. But he never forgot her. "Why are you back?" Elizabeth asked. "Business." Jason replieed. "Oh." Elizabeth said, knowing he meant helping Sonny Corinthos take care of mob business. "Are you in any danger?" She asked. Jason shook his head. "If I was I wouldn't have come to you, putting you in danger." Elizabeth had missed Jason. Her life haqd been so busy after he left that she bearly had time to think about him, but she did. It wasn't that often, but when she did she would wonder where he was and if she would ever see him again. And now here he was, standing in front of her.  "How have you been?" Jason asked. "Good." Elizabeth replied quickly, she remembered she had to meet Lucky and she knew that he didn't like Jason, she had promised Lucky that Jason was out of her life for good, and it made her life so much harder when Jason was around, but still she couldn't stay away from him. "I'm sorry. I have to go meet someone.' Elizabeth said. "Lucky?" Jason asked as if he already knew. Elizabeth nodded. "Ok." Jason said. Elizabeth looked at Jason. "I hope to see you again, though." She said. "You will." He replied. Elizabeth smiled. "Welcome back." She said. "Feels good." jason said. "It feels right." Elizabeth looked at Jason once more then she turned and walked away. Jason didn't want to hurt her, he knew that coming between her and Lucky would, but he also knew that a part of her wanted to be with him and he wanted to be with her, and this time he was going to make it happen.

Lucky walked into Elizabeth's art studio. He expected to find her there but it was empty. Lucky sighed. "She must have gone looking for me." He thought. Lucky decide to wait for her there. He sat down on her couch. He looked around her room. How could he have almost thrown all this away. All his memories with Elizabeth, everything he ever shared with her it was all the best he had ever had. Helena had tried to come between them, but she failed. Lucky lay down on the couch and continued to wait for Elizabeth. "If she doesn't come back in a few minutes I'll go try to find her." Lucky thought to himself, unaware that at that moment Elizabeth walked up to the door. She stopped because she knew Lucky was inside. "Should she tell him about Jason?" She wondered. That had been on her mind the whole way home. She knew that Lucky would find out adventually and know that she was keeping it a secret. Last time Jason returned to P.C., it caused so many problems and she didn't want that to happen again. Elizabeth put her hand on the doorknob and sighed as she thought if she should tell Lucky or not. Lucky knew she was out there and opened the door. He looked at her and she looked back at him. "Hey." He said softly. "Hi." Elizabeth said as she walked inside and took off her coat. "Where were you?" Lucky asked. "I was looking for you." "I was looking fo5r YOU." She said. "You were at your dad's longer then I thought." "Yeah." Lucky said putting the cheese fries on the table. "I hope they're not cold by now." Elizabeth shrugged. "Oh, well." She said. "We can heat them up." Lucky looked at Elizabeth. "What's bothering you?" He asked. Elizabeth sighed. "Is it that obvious?" She asked. Lucky took her hands. "I can always tell when you're upset." He said. Elizabeth looked deeply in Lucky's eyes. At that moment she realized she would tell him the truth. "You want to talk about it?" He asked. "Lucky." Elizabeth said. "I didn't know how you'd react, but I wanted to let you know that Jason is back in town." Lucky's face expression remained the same. "You saw him?" He asked. "Yeah, just now." Elizabeth replied. "On the docks, when I was looking for you." Lucky sighed. "Elizabeth, I know that you consiter Jason as your friend." Elizabeth interrupted him. "Not if it means losing you." She said. "You're more importent to me than that." Lucky looked down. "You told me earlier this year that you had feelings for him." He said quietly.  Elizabeth put her hand on Lucky's face and he looked at her. "I know that I said that, but I left him for you because you're the one I love, Lucky, you know that." "But, I know you care about him." Lucky said. "Not like you." Elizabeth told him. "Not even close, I love you, and Jason is my friend and it ends there. He is nothing more than that, I promise." "I believe you." Lucky said, putting his hands over Elizabeth's. "But, I know Jason wants to be more than that with you." He said. "Jason knows that I don't want to be anything more than friends with him." Elizabeth replied. Lucky sat down. "Jason seems to always show up and try to turn the two of us against each other." He said. "His showing up has never been a ghood thing."Elizabeth sat down next to Lucky. "He helped me when I thought you were dead, when you were kidnapped, I had no idea that you were alive. I would have gone crazy if he hadn't been there." Lucky stopped for a second. "I'm glad you had someone, that you weren't alone." He said softly. Elizabeth leaned on Lucky's shoulder. "But now, I have my Lucky back." Lucky smiled. "You got me." He said. Elizabeth smiled back. "You got me." She said. Lucky glanced over at the table. "Who wants cold cheese fries?" He asked. Elizabeth smiled. "I'd eat anything with you." She said. Lucky looked at her."I love you." He said.  "I love you more." Elizabeth said leaning on Lucky's shoulder. Lucky smiled and held her close.
